CB Renewables welcomes the news that an international green trade expo could be coming to Merseyside. Liverpool Vision is currently in talks to organise an international Green Expo event for 2013 which could bring hundreds of businesses and potential investors to the region.
The idea for the expo was first mentioned in an independent report from Lord Heseltine and former Tesco chief Sir Terry Leahy, published in October, which set out a blueprint for growth in the Liverpool city region.
CB Renewables sales manager John Forrest said: “This would be a fantastic opportunity for green energy firms in the Merseyside and North West region. Merseyside is a great business location with excellent infrastructure and transport links and a Green Expo would demonstrate these benefits to hundreds of potential investors.
“As a renewable energy specialist this would be a great event for CB Renewables, allowing us to showcase our expertise and successful projects to a wider audience. It is essential that the green energy industry is supported by Government and local authorities and we commend Liverpool Vision for realising the potential of hosting a Green Expo in the region.”
Mr Steinberg said: “One of the things we asked to go into the Heseltine and Leahy report was about hosting an international trade expo. We hope to site the Green Expo in north Liverpool in 2013 and expect it will bring another boost to the area.
“I think that will allow businesses to come into the area from abroad and look at the physical advantages about relocating there.”
Mr Steinberg said that overseas companies would be targeted and shown the benefits of Liverpool as a business location once in the region.
